I am just setting up my 3 gallon aquarium, and I found some great reddish brown gravel at the pet store……Last year I found some great smooth stones on the short of Lake Huron that would look really good color-wise with the gravel, if I boil them, will it be okay to put a few in?

I am getting a Teddy Bear Hamster in the summer. I don’t want to get a plastic cage with tubes because it is hard to clean, especially the tubes. And I think the wire cages aren’t big enough. That is why I want to get a size 20 gallon aquarium. Is it ok if I place a hamster in a aquarium? I will also get a exercise ball and a crittertrail playpen.Oh, also please don’t say I should get another type of cage, I have decided to get a aquarium.

SeafoamGreenSG asked: Hi, I own a 20 gallon aquarium with maybe 8 little neon tetras. No real plants. How many hours a day should the light be on in my aquarium? It’s been at 8, but i think that’s too much.
Thanks

I have a 2 gallon aquarium with a betta fish and an african dwarf frog. There is a bubble aerator and I change the water once a week. Do I need to get a small filter?

I’ve recently acquired a 10-gallon aquarium that was in use before I received it. (Read: it’s not a new tank.) We’ve stocked it with fish, and the water has turned really cloudy. I’ve done a couple of partial (10-20%) water changes, but it hasn’t helped. Is there anything I can do to fix this short of a complete water change? If not, how do I change all the water? What do I do with the fish while I’m replacing the water?
The tank did still have some water in it when I received it, and the filters were all kept immersed when the tank was moved. Can new water and fish cause “New Tank Syndrome”?

I know one has salty water, the other doesn’t, but i was given a 20 gallon aquarium from my friend (with filter, etc..) and she told me it was a freshwater aquarium. What’s the difference between that and a saltwater one?

I know 20 gallons cant handle big fish or very many, but what are some of your favorite freshwater fish that could go in one?

I have a 20 gallon tank. I want to know what you need to set it up. Also I want to know what fish get along with each other. I don’t want Tropical Fish. I want to have that one fish that you always see on the glass sucking the algae. What fish get along with that? Do you have a 20 gallon aquarium at home and if you do what fish do you have and what equipment do you have.
