Kiwi bird asked:
Just got a fish feeder to set up at my lake in Central Louisiana. Wanting to attract catfish, bream and crappie. But, not wanting to attract turtles, gar, and jack fish. What type is better: floating or sinking? Where can I buy it in like a 50 lb sack?

DanGleebits asked:
Mine has to be Perch. I think they are the best looking fish and they give a great fight when you hook into them, especially anything over 2lb. If you have every caught a big perch over 2lb, you’ll know what I mean. What is your favourite freshwater fish?

I want to see what all kinds of fish can be caught in the US. I just want like a poster with pics and names of the freshwater fish. All help appreciated. Thank You.

B R asked: I would like to begin keeping and eating the freshwater fish (bluegill and bass, mostly) that I catch.
How can I do this mercifully? Bashing them is not for me, putting them on ice is of questionable compassion, and I am not keen about opening their jaws to break their spine while they struggle.
I have read a bit about piercing their brain with a knife tip; how would the knife placement work?
Please. I realize many anglers don’t give a hoot about compassionate killing. I would prefer not to have endless bad joke responses.

Addendum: If I cut off their heads, won’t this make filleting difficult? Exactly what would one grab on to?
