What if Zeolite Crystals fell into the aquarium?
Misa asked:
Well I tried to put some Zeolite Crystals into my ten gallon aquarium filter and in doing so maybe about two tablespoons fell into the aquarium. The aquarium consists of several baby Black Lyre Tail Mollies, three Glo Fish, One Betta, and a plecostomus. I don’t know if what kind of fish are in there matters or not… but I tried to look up what happens and couldn’t find anything.

Aslong as they are too small to eat it.

nothing really until they absorb ammonia then rerelease it.
Honestly it isn’t going to do any harm to the aquarium or the fish.
Why are you adding this stuff to the tank? Simply stick to your weekly water changes and you should not have an ammonia problem.

The zeolite will do absolutely no harm whatever in your tank. If anything, it will absorb ammonia from the water and thus make the water cleaner. The fish won’t eat it or anything– it’s just gravel to them– but even if they did, it would be harmless.
Remember that anything you put in your filter is also in your tank, in the sense that the water from the tank runs through the filter.
