I love the many subspecies of goldfish.
Parrot fish are pretty awesome, too. But I think they might be brackish water fish.
Why, are you planning to get a freshwater aquarium??

kribensis ciclid - theyre sooo pretty
black moor goldfish - so peaceful
runners up:
clown loaches - they have personality
jack dempsey - theyre so cute when young, you can feed them by hand!!..but grow to be monsters!!

I like Kuhli loaches and Weather loaches.
to the above poster: Parrot Fish are not brackish, if your talking either about the cichlid hybrid (the red one) or the actual Parrot that is a green cichlid.
