   Ichthyology is the study of fish, all fish.

   The closest thing is simply, freshwater biology, which is the study of all organisms in a freshwater habitat.

   The study of river and stream biology is limnology. This would be analogous to marine biology. Ichthyology refers to the study of all fin fish, regardless of habitat. There are only a handful of people who study fresh water African chiclids, so they don’t have an official title. Sadly.
