What are the little gray crawling bugs in my freshwater aquarium?

freshwater aquarium
wendy p asked:

Thanxs for your answer however they are not worm shaped at all. They are shaped like a flea but a clear whiteish grey color. They are in the water. They appear to be able to swim as well as crawl along the rock. There are a great number of them, over 50. could my Siamese algae eaters have mated? could they be babies? I can’t seem to find a picture of algae eater babies.

  1. They are some kind of round or flatworms. Planaria are very common and appear as tiny white worms or may seem grey. It’s very hard to determine what exactly your bugs may be, I’m not very sure without being able to see them
I’m sorry I can’t be of anymore help but what I can say for you to do is to investigate where these bugs are coming from and if they are in the aquarium water too. The presence of planaria indicate there is too much pollution in the aquarium, they appear when nutrients from large amounts of fish food are leftover. This would require a 30-50% water change ((always make sure to make the replacement water equal in temperature to your aquarium’s and make sure it is properly dechlorinated))

    Hoped I helped

  2. fish lice or daphnia? look it up on google images

did you bring water from a local pond or lake?

did you bring anything from a local pond or lake? like a rock, a plant or fish?

it seems to be introduced into the tank

  3. i am not very sure,if they r the same ones which i saw once in my tank (their was just one). but as soon as i saw it i took it out as i saw tht the fishes were swimmimg away from it (they were afraid of it!!). i even saw it before, sticking to one of my goldfishes and then later in another (but i never thought of it as a living thing,i thought it was some diease!!)(i was shocked to see it swimming the next day!!!)
so i thought maybe it grew in their body by itself!!!
