  1. no your fish will die live rock carrie salt

  2. also live rock is called live rock because it has little micro-organism’s that live on that rock, and those micro-organisms need salt to thrive. So once you add it to your freshwater tank they all die and your “live” rock turns into a “rock”

  3. You can put it in but anything on the rock will die even the algea, the rock will not help or hurt the fish just rince it off before you add it so you don’t add to much salt to the tank.

  4. rocks arent alive

  5. no. live isnt isnt really alive. its called that because there are little creatures (saltwater creatures) living inside of the rock. live rock would hurt your freshwater aquarium, not help it.

  6. Your live rock would die (or the organisms on it would). It wouldn’t be good for your freshwater aquarium to have the die off either. Live rock is way too expensive to waste, if you don’t need it, I’d sell it to someone with a saltwater setup.

  7. or get a saltwater aquarium!!

  8. Live rock would do nothing for your fresh water. What are you trying to do by adding the rock?

Live rock is used to help a salt tank cycle more quickly. This will not happen in your fresh water.
