I’m converting my 10 gallon freshwater aquarium into a reef aquarium, and I was wondering if it would be ok to use the same filter I had in the freshwater as a the reef

I asked this question a minite ago but i think my phrasing confused people. How many and what kinjd of fish should I get for my 10 gallon that used to hold 1 goldfish?

Amanda asked: I’m doing a report on setting up a fish aquarium.
Do you have to cycle freshwater tanks AND saltwater tanks?
Is the process the same for both instances?
thanks =)

I have sixty gallon freshwater fish tank and the filter I have used is the Millenium 3000. It’s starting to fall apart (I have had it for about 4 years) and I was going to go to the local pet shop and get it replaced, but I was wondering if there was a better filter out there (I was never quite satisfied with the 3000). Thanks in advance.

Weston M asked: I caught 2 hermit crabs while fishing in the Gulf of Mexico and decided to keep them.
I’m also thinking about getting an aquarium, but I just want a freshwater one. If I put the crabs in the freshwater, will they live?

Christopher Michael asked:
I just bought a new fish tank that I’m filling with freshwater fish tomorrow, but I need to know if its absolutely necessary to have a canister of aquarium salt in there. Petco does it. I’ve never seen it done before so what, if any, are the benefits?

I have a 2.7 gallon tank with only three small pink minnows in it. I am thinking of getting another kind of fish. What kinds of fish can live with them comfortably, but so that my other fish don’t get hurt or get eaten. Oh, by the way, the fish are only about 3/4 - 1 inch long.

I have a 36 bow front which I’m currently running a saltwater set up. But money is getting tight and I’m having trouble maintaining it. So I’m thinking of changing it over to a simple freshwater set up. Nothing flashy. Maybe some Tetra and plants. Can anyone possibly recommend some low maintenance plants (like ones that I don’t have to have an CO2 system with). And if at all possible, a site to see some nice tanks and get some ideas. Thanks!

I’m looking for some easy to care for plants for my 55 gallon. I have about 6 africans( yellow lab, red zebra) and 2 plecos. I dont have any co2(hoping I dont need any?) and I just want to start to try my hands at some plants.
Maybe add a little maintenance instructions too? Of course ill be willing to change the light strips to whatever the plants desire. and any flowering/bulbs that are easy to care for too?
