Misa asked:
Well I tried to put some Zeolite Crystals into my ten gallon aquarium filter and in doing so maybe about two tablespoons fell into the aquarium. The aquarium consists of several baby Black Lyre Tail Mollies, three Glo Fish, One Betta, and a plecostomus. I don’t know if what kind of fish are in there matters or not… but I tried to look up what happens and couldn’t find anything.

The Foul asked: I’ve heard people say that a little bit of salt added to the aquarium can help prevent disease.
If so, what kind of salt and how much exactly?
thanks!

I am just setting up my 3 gallon aquarium, and I found some great reddish brown gravel at the pet store……Last year I found some great smooth stones on the short of Lake Huron that would look really good color-wise with the gravel, if I boil them, will it be okay to put a few in?

None of the 4 foot stuff they don’t get that big in a aquarium and albino might be stunted growth or life. Right now he is in a 55 gallon and won’t be moved for probly 5 years or so.

I have had cichlids for a long time but have never used salt in my tank. My fish breed and seem to do just great nut I was wondering if the salt increases their life span or intensifies their colors? I have recently purchased dainichi cichlid food and it really has brought out more color in my fish. I just wanted to know if the salt might increase color too and why?
PS I have a my aquarium is between 220 and 240 (yes thats right, it is very large lol) gallons how much salt would that use and what would the approximate cost be per month?
